    Maybe its an urban myth but I've heard people have walked across the Mersey at Oglet Shore area, anyone else heard of this?

    I once rode through the small pond in Calderstones Park on my Mountain Bike only cause the previous summer it had dried out so I knew how deep it was

    Yes Kev, it was talked about when I was a kid (many years ago!) but I believe it to be a myth! anyone who knows Oglet shore, with its eddy's and whirlpools, even at low tide would know just how dangerous this would be.
    I do believe however, that the Mersey can be walked across, but you will need to travel up past Warrington and trace it's source!! Cheers All

    Yes you can do it! Someone did it either last year or the year before it was in all the woolly back local papers and north west tonight tv.

    Yes, someone did it last year .. it was on local news.

    Can't recall the details now tho'
