How about men just running the track???
Sounds a great idea Naked lilac, we could have a nuddy woman instead of a Hare going round the track so the Men will chase,

It's a funny old thing this internet. I have just seen an e-mail outlining odd laws from around the world. One of which was...

Topless saleswomen are legal in Liverpool , England - but only in tropical fish stores.

Yes, indeed. We do come to resemble our pets...I often forget I have the fish...and go back for more.

If we were ever short of cobbles for our historic areas there's plenty of disused cobbled side streets that could be used.

I went on monday morning and outside the museum looks terrible, it needs to get sorted asap.
i was on the tour bus making use of my day off (no offence to the company, but the tour was pants) and looking at the city at a new angle, and alot more cleaning up of buildings needs to be done, loads of building in need of more than just a lick of paint.
guess it's hard to see the potential in a place when all you can see is the downside.
    Don't dream it ... be it !

I was right behind that bus on Victoria st and so could hear the live commentary. I was surprised to hear that the henglers circus was apparently on the wasteland behind the Municipal buildings which is now the car park but when, as this was a bombed building during the war.

Also they said Being for the benefit of Mr. Kite was based on this circus that appeared there which is a load of horlicks.

I think there might be some truth in that Ged! Hengler's circus was on that site, originally, but was moved for the building of Municipal chambers,to Newington, then again to West Derby rd.Dont know about Mr. Kite though!

There is a connection between Hengler and the Beatles song "Being for the benefit of Mr. Kite".
There is a little known obelisk in Toxteth Park Cemetery (opposite the Royal Hotel), which reveals the connection. I won't spoil the surprise.
