Good pics Ged, any more ?
Just trying to place that house on the left of pic' 1,wonder if it's still there? Though I've just realised that Queens drive is now a dual carriageway, and it probably went during the road widening!
On the 2nd Queens Drive pic, even Walton Park Flats (3 storey 1950s units) have since bitten the dust, so has Queens Drive baths on the right. The foreground is now the sight of the roundabout with the flyover atop of course.
cheers Ged
Good p;ic,s from LRO are they not ?. It isn't available any more but
there is a cd with over 8000 city engineers photo,s on it, it was £8
when LRO had it.

Deprived of its unique dockland waters Liverpool
becomes a Venice without canals, just another city, no
longer of special interest to anyone, least of all the

In the first and second pic the small road turning left used to have a dairy depot on it. My sister lived in a big 5 bedroomed house next to it.

Thanks Ged never seen the first photo of Queens Drive/Breeze Hill before.amazed, i wonder when the pic was taken, the pavement and grass area goes on for some distance ,not sure if thats West Derby in the distance, it seems so well kept.looks like someones back garden, must of walked round that place thousands of times but still cant be sure which rd is Breeze Hill ,dosent seem to be a start of County rd or whatever little rd it was back then.will try and print them off if its ok, family will love them as well.
Yeah, you're looking from Breeze Hill really into the start of Queens Drive.
I see, was thinking 2nd pic was Breeze hiil/Breeze lane junction,, so it would be Rice lane to the left and County rd to right
This one is from the LRO online catalogue.
It shows the corrugated iron mission hall first left. Then the vets house beyond 22/5/1908. Queens Drive baths and library are under construction. Behind them is Walton Stables made of prefabricated concrete from Cobbs quarry on St. Domnigo road and transported there by traction engine (just like the Eldon st flats a few years earlier)
