    St Georges CofE Primary school also got demolished,this ran alongside St Georges church.

    My secondry school was Liverpool Girls College in Grove Street !, it was demolished years ago and they opened Archbishop Blanche merging a couple of schools together !

    A section from my school photograph from Spring 1964. Mr Phil Deadman was our phys ed master. The Morrison or Rose Lane School was located at the corner of Rose Lane and Mather Avenue in Allerton. It is now the site of a large Tesco's supermarket.

    Funny, when I was pupil - pulling down schools was a good idea. Now I think differently.

    You are right George. The next shot (Stan always took severaal of each street) clearly shows the Astoria a few yards further down the street.
    What happened to the next pic you were going to show in the Walton Road/Great Mersey Street thread? Colin.
