Default Pier Head as you will never see it again

Pier Head 1911 (the Liver Building is minus its Liver Birds) Pier Head 2000 Pier Head, May 2010 It is easy to cast oneself as yet another moaner who is always finding fault with any changes. I’d like to think I have a positive attitude to change and I have welcomed many of the recent developments that have [...]

It may be early to judge the wedges yet.

I agree, and have always wanted the Dock Rd removed and all the space around Canning Dock made a park merging into Chevasses Park The Baltic triangle could have been retail/residential and at the end of the Wapping Tunnel the Arena complete with own station. Screw the Duke of Westminster's shopping Mall. There are many paces around in which one of those could have been built.

Deprived of its unique dockland waters Liverpool
becomes a Venice without canals, just another city, no
longer of special interest to anyone, least of all the
tourist. Would we visit a modernised Venice of filled in
canals to view its modern museum describing
    how it once was?

Great photos Colin, the old,the great and the ugly. The planers want shooting, must have been on the take to allow that to be built there.
By the Arena or north of the Liver Buildings it would have been OK.

    Colin,
Moan away, your comments are spot on. It's all about income per square foot and nothing about retaining our heritage or developing a heritage for future generations - or a living space for current generations.
Cadfael would appreciate this thread and it saddens me that he has gone.

How things change. I took this snap a few years ago. Frightening how Liverpool changes before our very eyes.

I've just spent a while looking through these photos. So many memories there - the landing stage at the Pierhead, the street scenes around the town centre - so much to look at in those shots.

I mentioned this in the past. But they all ignored my post Ha Ha.
