    Taffy,
Does any church have a proper service with organ music any more?.
You can always count on Americans to do the right thing - after they've tried everything else.

    Smile Rose Brow, Gateacre

Does anyone have pictures of the old smithy and the cottages on Rose Brow? I lived in Gateacre years ago and always found the cottages and tuck shop (former blacksmith shop) to be very quaint. I heard that the large seafarers home on Rose Brow is being developed. Is that true? I look forward to visiting Gateacre, after a long absence, later this year!

    Default Gateacre

The street on the left of the stone shelter is where my nan and granddad Woolnough used to live. It was a row of cottages with black and white tops, I remember going to see them when I was little. There was an outside toilet with a tin bath on the wall. It was a tiny cottage with steep stairs and no carpet, I think it just had two rooms upstairs. My nan and granddad had to leave because my nan had a stroke and couldn't manage the stairs. I'm sure they became listed.

Does anyone know what that street is called.
