I work in the Biosciences Building and I just looked out of the window and they've demolished it! Bloody hell! The plans for the Hall Lane improvements didn't seem to suggest this! Agh!! Distress!

Wow. I only passed it last weekend, that zany art thing on the roof was even all lit up. No messing about there then.
Aye! it's such a shame! I used to go there rather often when I was an undergrad living in Kensington. The landlord at the time used to go to the chippy round the corner for everyone in the pub, providing we chipped in with a bit of cash! I think that was a couple of years before the mad thing on the roof went up though!
Yup! I'm staring at the space it used to occupy! All that's left is a pile of rubble and the faint wiff of booze!
I'm on about the mount vernon hotel on Irvine Street!
I'm Sorry!
I got it confused with the Bear's Paw (?) at the other end of Irvine Street.
No worries! Someone here in work just asked me the same question!
The old 'Round House' gone! I didn't live too far from there years ago.
I know it's for "improvements" but sad that we're still knocking these local landmarks down!![]()
Keeping it real!

*sarcastic hand-clap i might add due to my stupidity!* Crap! Panic over! The huge pile of rubble opposite my building that I thought was the Mount Vernon... is Fort Knox! The mount vernon is still there... Sorry for worrying everyone! I'm an idiot!!!
Mount Vernon, down to earth little pub, brilliant. Local Solutions, I used to go there in the 90s just after I left School, when it was called MCVS. Got my NVQ level 2 in I.T. Me and a few lads on the course used to go there every time we finshed for Christmas or Easter, then onto the Coach and Horses (now an Electric Store), Old Fort, Legs of Man (Now demolished) Penny Farthing then either Matty Street or Wood Street. Happy days for the then lightweight drinking teenage Kid Amigo.
Glad the Vernon is still standing. The lads from the course are planning a re-union sometime this year (wonders of Facebook) so will be heading there if I have my way/
I was about to say it was still there last night when I fell out of it.
