There is a pic of the water rats, the local lads who in the early 1900s used to skinny dip in the canal at Burlington bridge which was warmed by the Tate & Lyle flushings. I lived off Burly from 93 to 98 after Burroughs (originally a wash-house) had made way for the Kingsway Wimpey 'apartments'.
