    Default Bootle Cemetery

    Nothing is sacred anymore.

We've been watching this story for at least 6 months with the threat of demolition and we all rallied round to ask if we can help to save it - campaign, local donations - it all fell on deaf ears as in little more than a morning, 100 years of history was lost.

They assume that it was going to cost £600k to redo when it needed little more than retiling, exterior pointing and a bloody good clean.

Didn't even know that was happening. Real shame but Councils will knock anything down rather than repair it if there's ever a chance that they'll get sued for someone getting injured

    Cad, thats disgraceful.
Whats in these kids minds to "help along" the demolition.
We had nowt when we were kids but we played footy etc AND learned to respect others.
I take it the police did little to deter them.

I went to Allerton cemetary only last week and the chapels there are very well kept as is the whole Cemetary.

    Started the Old Swan Website:

It doesn't help that there's a school (My old school) right behind the back wall of cemetary.

    Hi
what about Anfield Cem. There were at one time 3 chapels, now only one which is used for
storage, the other 2 were demolished in the 50s/60s.
The 2 catacomb buildings slowly self demolishing, yet they, like ll the buildings, are gradeII*
    listed. Check my website at
