If you have a look at this 1900 map from toxteth.net opposite Bently Road you will see an area with trees, today it houses the flats owned by Venture Housing, can anyone remember before the flats where built did it remain a green area?

Ghost, lived in Moss Grove in the late 50's to early 60's and can only recollect there being flats there. Lots of empty sites(bomies) littered L8 after WW11, and all were built on, usually small tenament blocks consisting of just 4 flats, all suposed to be temporary, I think thats what was on this site.
Ghost, me again, just spoke to me mar and she said the site was as your map until the late 60's, thats when the flats were built. Aparently my gran wanted one of the flats but changed her mind at the last miute.
Don't know about your original question but just looking at your map reminds me of the haunted house at the bottom of Fern Grove.
I had friends who rented a flat with it.
Hahaha..I knew you'd be interested in that!
I can't to be honest. Some older friends of mine organised a 17th birthday party for me there some many moons ago. It was within about 5-7 doors up from the Harthill Rd end of the street on the left (of course) as you walk up. Top floor flat I think.
They used to see it all the time. They definitely did see stuff as they weren't the sort to make it up.
We had a good party, had my first ever spliff that night, snogged the posh orchestra girl of my dreams and walked home from there the next morning through the Autumnal leaves of Arundal Avenue feeling...different.
It's part of a film I'm making.
Lodge Lanes a hole.
