    Very interesting pictures.

It was a Wash House in Upper Frederick Street (for laundry), not a Bath House.
    See Colin Wilkinson's recent piece.

The photos of the synagogues don't include the building in Hardman Street/Pilgrim Street (later Chaucers/O'Connors pub) which was a synagogue before Hope Place Synagogue was built.

    Hi QS,

The synagogue on Hardman Street/Pilgrim Street was also featured previously on Post#35 here.

Cheers Quent, quite right. I thought I'd give the other description I'd come across in my collection.

    Kev.

I don't think the term "Bath House" is British.
Is there something we need to know?

    Dazza.
    Hardman Street/Pilgrim Street.
    It's had various uses.
I'll try and put together a little piece about it.

Very impressed with that thread, D.
