    Thumbs up Liverpool Homes and other Buildings Colour Paintings and Artwork Pre-1950

    Woolton & Gateacre



    Here are some interesting views of many buildings, produced before 1950. Not sure why thee buildings were the focus of so many paintings, cameras were available weren't they? Maybe it was a project of some kind. Woolton/ Gateacre are lovely parts of the city. Courtesy Liverpool Records Office.

    The 'old Shop' on Woolton Road - to the left is the Halfway House and to the right was Dudlow Lane Pumping Station!

    The biggest regret of my life was, I never bought the shop and property in the third picture.

    Believe it or not, I could have bought it in 1980 for 3.000 pounds and I didn't.
