Anglican Cathedral?
Folks, can some one confirm or deny the fact that Liverpool Anglican Cathedral is The Largest Anglican Catherdal in The World?
Wikipedia says its the 2nd Largest.

It's the largest Anglican Cathedral in Britain - that's for sure.
Slightly OT, but I love seeing peoples' reactions when they first enter the cathedral. I took my sis in law and hubby there in 2005. Hubby's jaw dropped and my sis had an asthma attack, I kid you not. It looks big on the outside, but nothing can prepare you for when you first enter.
It gets me every time I enter the building, a truly wonderful place and a nice pic.
My original query was regarding the title Largest Anglican Cathedral in The World.
Is it or isn't it?

Why not contact the Cathedral direct?
Well if it's the second biggest cathedral in the world and the other one isn't Anglican doth thy quest not end there ?

It is the largest Anglican Cathedral in the world, and the 2nd largest cathedral in the world, after St Peter's in Rome.
(That was the situation in 1969).
"Anglican" is only another word for Church of England, and the Church of England was founded by Henry VIII.

The Episcopalian church in the USA is the American branch of the Church of England. I went to a wedding at one last year in New Jersey and the service is identical.

Someone in work has been saying its the second largest anglican in the world, I was pretty sure it is the largest anglican, yet the second largest cathedral.Why you wanna know Kev? House point?

That's a bit mixed up but I think they must mean "The Cathedral is the largest Cathedral in the United Kingdom and is the second largest Anglican cathedral in the world. It occupies a total area of 9600 square metres."
