    Question Joseph Dickenson 1854-1879

Joseph Dickenson was my 2xGt Grandfather(Maternal). He lived with his wife Mary Ellen Ball at 92 Barnet Street West Derby.

His occupation was Railway Clerk (Southport)& he was also a Lay Preacher for the Primitive Methodist Movement.
5.Feb 1878 their daughter Margaret Amelia was born at the above address.
In 1879 Joseph Dickenson died age 25yrs.I don't know where he was interred & I also am not aware of cause of death.
Because of the area I live in Spain we have a very abysmal postal service & I cannot order any certs because they never
reach me.So it is too costly.
Is there any kind person out there who could possible find any info for me.25yrs is a early age to die & I wonder if there were any newspaper announcements etc.

    Regards
    bettespana

I'd love to help you, but I have no idea how to go about this. I think that the Census files are open. Might help.

I have Joseph on the 1871c which was before he married.Joseph died in 1879 so is not on the next census in 1881.
Hence me having a problem trying to find out where he is buried & cause of death etc.I thought I could possibly find a announcement of death
or something else in the newspapers but I have had it confirmed to me that they are not available online for this period.
    Thank you pablo

When you phone if you give the ref no it will enable them to locate the details you need ,
you can also ask who else is buried with him as the graves normally hold up to 5 people .
    good luck

Checking through newspapers can take hours.

How about emailing either the Registry Office, Old Hall Street, Liverpool, or Smedley Hydro, Southport, and explain your problems with the post, and say you're willing to pay.
Liverpool if you're sure he died in Liverpool.
    Southport if you're not.
Perhaps they might scan the certificate for you.
