Hello, just joined so my first post. Tattoo place was called Jack's under the railway bridge facing the police station. The little tunnel in the park is defo still there cos I passed it while I was running a couple of days ago. Great idea for a site by the way.

Hiya Christy and welcome. Are the allotments still there, on the other side of the little tunnel? Do you live nearby?

Hi Christy. Glad someone remembers the Tatto shop.
I found this photo somewhere on the web - can't think where I got it from - but I had it saved in my documents. The little kiosk just under the bridge was where the tattoo shop was. Can you recall when it closed ? I think it may have been in the 1980s maybe.

I reckon it was about 93 that Jack's tattoo kiosk shut cos I remember my mate getting his arm done there. I think Jacks moved onto the block where the art cafe is above a sweet shop or an outdoor.

Yes, the allotments are still under the tunnel. I pass them a lot as I train in the park quite a bit and I only live in the swan.

Smile Thanks from a new member

    Hi.

A visitor to The Liverpool Art Café told me about this great site. Thanks for all the interest and support in our new venture.
Thought I should tell you about an exhibition we are holding next week. Walton artist Carl V Fletcher is showing works that reflect his current interest in space.
Carl is a specialist decorative painter and examples of his work can be seen at The Trafford Centre and in clubs and pubs throughout Liverpool.
The Liverpool Art Café charges local artists just 10 per cent commission. Other galleries charge up to 50 per cent.
We welcome everyone to our café/gallery and promise freshly cooked food, a friendly atmosphere and plenty of interesting art.
    Call 0151 263 9463 or 07788666837/07713642540 for information.

    Hi MissInformed

It is going to be the weekend of 19th/20th May, 2007. Check the thread on the event at Casebook: Jack the Ripper, particularly the most recent posts because organizer Chris Jones has just dropped the price for the weekend from £43 to £38 and arranged a number of add-on activities such as a tour of the Maybrick mansion and a trip to Anfield Cemetery to see James Maybrick's grave. You can email Mr Jones at c.jones@gateacre.liverpool.sch.uk
