    Default Port of Norfolk Island

Due to Norfolk Island's coastline and the lack of a sheltered anchorage, ships anchor about 1km offshore. Cargo at Norfolk Island is unloaded by the ships derricks into lighters which are then towed ashore by motorised launches. Passngers come ashore from Cruise ships also by launches.
The two ships anchor'ed are the cargo ship "Southern Amelia"and the "Cruise ship Odyseey"

    Default norfolk gardian

Hi another ship that visites the port is M.V. Norfolk Guardian was specifically purchased to service Norfolk Island. Previously named the "M.V.Artkis Ocean," this vessel has to date completed many successful voyages. She is in Lloyds Survey and is 2,500 deadweight tonnes. The Lloyds Class Notations are +100A1, + LMC, UMS, Ice Strengthened Unrestricted Navigation.

The Norfolk Guardian completed major refit & Special Survey in 2007 at Harwood, near Yamba, northern NSW & will continue to provide a reliable and satisfactory shipping service to Norfolk Island well into the future.
