    Default Killer Poetry (CTG)

    Killer Poetry

.....all the lousy little poets coming round
tryin' to sound like Charlie Manson
    ......
    ......................Leonard Cohen, "The Future"

Remember the Santa we hired from Macy's
who turned out to be John Wayne Gacy?
There's too much murder and mutilation,
our relationship a corpse out in the rain.

Recall how we shared so much fun, dear,
until you sneered that I was Ted Bundy.
So the Christmas lights flashed on and off
with the jollity of The Bells by Rachmaninov.

You tried to cut off your ear like Van Gogh
and the crowd yelled out, "Go, girl, go!"
Our time together was altogether fine,
now the memories ain't worth a dime.

P.S. Of course here in the USA, "Van Gogh" is pronounced "Van Go"

    Very good Chris,

Some black undercurrents trickling beneath the Christmas cheer, I see there ay Chris?

Well tis the season to acknowledge some ancient history, beyond the tinsel, and fairy lights?

Even before Christmas, was Christmas - the 21st Dec, the winter soltice [the shortest day, with least amount of daylight] was dreaded by human civilisation. If anything, this was the eve of the natural new year's cycle. If anything bad was going to happen in the year, this was this going to be on this day. Even now, movies such as 2012 foresee the end of time [according to the Mayan calender] as being 21st Dec. 2012 and plays homage to this ancient [and in some parts of the US: recent] fear of the end of days, or some kind of Apocalypse.

Hence, the burning of lights long into to the night so see off all these evil spirits is now masked by the current celebration.

So Christmas, was not always a time of Cheer! It was a time of Fear!

Thanks Daz, you just ruined Christmas for me. Now I'm worrying about the end of the World.

    Hi guys,

I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year 2010. I'm going to be travelling around [like most] and won't be posting until the new year now. So look forward to more poems, pictures, discussion, and learning new stuff in the new year.

All the best to you and yours,

    Daz.

Take care on your travels and remember to tell the driver to "keep her between the hedges".

    Default Thanks!

    Thanks guys,

I hope santa pays special attention to each and everyone of you this year, [I've got my fingers crossed for a Canon PowerShot G10 Digital camera???]

I've already had a look under pablo's xmas tree, but all the boxes look far to big for that.

Anyway must fly...see you all next year,

    Best wishes,

    Daz
