The Price of Poetry
Its worth?
Butterfly scales?
Beauty lacks any price.
We write masterpieces, demand
no wage.

True, we make no demand as to wages,
we poets and untutored sages,
we live to out what is in us that rages,
to unlock what is pent up in cages,
is payment enough through the ages
irrespective of how inked the page is.
.................................................. .........
No competition engendered,
no matter how little is rendered,
we each rhyme employ
ourselves to enjoy
Chris need not hoot for payment to boot
you know poetry is charged by the foot.
[I must get out more]
Ha ha, thanks, Oudeis.
