    Knowhowe,

Silly me, I have avoided; 1,2,and 3 thus far thinking it was about America.

With that pic of the 'half timbered' house it is little wonder that memories of these times are in black & white. Good pics though, thank you.

Great pictures KH. The picture of West Kirby is outside West Kirby station. The Dee Hotel is on the left. West Kirby Concourse would be on the right. Can't for the life of me remember the name of the road. I'll look in me A-Z tomorrow.

Not a lot of the places have changed. They still look remarkably familiar even after fifty years.

Thank you. Lovely pic. The New Brighton ones will be particularly nostalgic for those of us born pre 1960

Thanks again for the local expertise. Nice to know that these places are still so recognisable.

I'll soon be posting a bunch of pics of whose locations i have no clue. I bet you will though...

The Leasowe Lighthouse photo is showing one of two lakes that used to be behind the seawall. These were fresh water that was extremly salty and was full of fish. Amazing how they lived. Tey were filled in late sixties early seventies.

Chester Street photograph was taken from the bottom looking up. On the left is Woodside Station and on the right is the old Woodside Hotel. Demolished a couple of years ago.

Do you ever walk around West Kirkby marina? I have been to the Ring O Bells pub, also the Moby Dick.

Yes, have a walk down there regularly, nice walk. Ringo'Bells used to be a great pub. People used to come miles to it. Last time I was there it was very quiet, that mat have been a one off, dunno. The Moby Dick is a pub I'm banned from. I walked in there with a hat on and I was told to get out. I went back twenty years later and the manager said I was barred. So I aint been in there for thirty years.
