    Default Marine life killed

The floating algae at West Waterloo Dock means means the marine life has been killed. The same is at Princes Half-Tide Dock. The marine life kept the water clean. It violates the UNESCO agreement for World Hertitage Status which insisted the marine life is preserved. The UNIQUE marine life is vital to the dock waters. See the web site on the sig below and go to Filling in West Waterloo Dock.

It is also against the UNESCO agreement to fill in West Waterloo dock. The actual UNESCO text in also on the web site.

Deprived of its unique dockland waters Liverpool
becomes a Venice without canals, just another city, no
longer of special interest to anyone, least of all the
tourist. Would we visit a modernised Venice of filled in
canals to view its modern museum describing
    how it once was?

The algae is marine life - albeit a different marine life to that which was there before.

I don't agree with filling in any of the docks but I think you attach too much importance to the World Heritage status afforded by UNESCO.
This is nothing but a hollow title dubiously awarded by a discredited organisation (the UN) who are treated with open contempt or totally ignored in matters of international importance by all of the world's major players.
I think the planning route is the way to go on this.
It seems quite obvious that the rules and regs are being ignored or flouted, both at a local and national level, by those entrusted with enforcing them.
What can you do though when the ODPM, the ultimate body charged with making planning decisions, ignores all of its own advice and regulations to allow a football stadium to be built in a public park?
Why should anyone follow any laws if central government can't even stick to their own?

I don't think I do. World Hertyitage Stus has put Liverpool on the map. People sit up and look now, and hub cap stealing jokes have stopped.

    Discredited by who?

    <snip anti UN rant>

That is clear look at the web site in the sig.

A rather different kettle of fish to filling in docks and flouting UNESCO WHS rules.
