I know a few members here who are interested in this kind of thing. Might even get a section dedicated to it.

Hi Deb1 I am unsure if you would get a photo, if they were famous then maybe , the way forward would be to post on some of the family history/genealogy sites which might be able to help with your request.
If you after old photos to show your children how people lived, then there lots of sites that have these photos.

    Maybe try
    http://genchatfriends.proboards39.com/index.cgi
    http://www.old-liverpool.co.uk/
    http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index...oard,21.0.html

The last site is Rootschat Lancashire as Liverpool was in Lancashire years ago

I would just ask for information on the family and see if you get replies then follow up with photo request.

    Hi Deb,
I started researching my roots at beginning of this year, if you're serious about it be prepared for lots of late nights/early mornings! I found 'Genes Reunited' invaluable (300+ 'family' to date) it costs under a tenner membership, but you'll find other members most helpful.

Try the 'free' sites before paying for info, because it can run quite expensive, for instance, it costs £7.00 for a marriage certifcate!

    Here's a few sites:

    http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk/

    http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/

Richard Porter was married to Edith C. Nolan in 1927 (Ref:REG_WD/448/168). They were married in either W. Derby Register Office or a RC church.

    Hope this helps.

I agreed with scousemouse, lots of late nights/early mornings but once you get into tracing your family it becomes very addictive but also very interesting as well as whos who I am also very interested in the stories, the social history.
I have over 291 names on my tree, I have got back to 1670 and I am in contact with distance relatives and we have made direct links to our familytrees.

    Default Porter/Nolan

    Hi, Deb 1
A bit late I think, but I had a great aunt Louisa Convey, who married a Richard Porter in 1925, at West Derby Register Office, in the October quarter, ref. REG WD/434/124. I have lost track of the family(ies). Hope this is of some use.
    Regards, petay.
