A historic crypt underneath Liverpool's iconic Catholic cathedral has undergone a ?3m transformation.
The opening of the new Lutyens Crypt at the Metropolitan Cathedral took place almost 76 years after the first stone was laid.

The Archbishop of Liverpool and HRH Duke of Gloucester were among the guests at the opening.
Reverend Patrick Kelly said: "The site has been regenerated becoming a key element in the city's regeneration."
The major refurbishment of the crypt includes new east and west approaches, archive provision, rewiring and new lighting, catering facilities, a new stage, new toilets and revamped exhibitions.
Canon Anthony O'Brien said: "It is with great pleasure and immense pride that almost 76 years after the laying of the foundation stone I can at last say that the Crypt of the Cathedral is complete.
"It is now ready to be showcased as a masterpiece by one of the greatest 20th century architects."
