he posted it late last year. I always remember it as I used it to remind me where to get off the 19 when I used to go to the match.

Yes. That's the one DC - well done. That little patch of housing ie. Summer seat, Bevington St and Eldon Grove are all pre WWI.

I'm ashamed to say I didn't know it existed until a few months ago!

loads of these around Lark Lane way-an old coal hole in the back yard wall


a bit rarer to see these days...the old wall bins. we had these in Plumer St when I was kid. The bin men would go up and down the entry with 1 large bin and empty these into it. all in the days before bin bags. most people had the walls bricked up liked the coal holes when new refuse services were introduced in the 1970's.
