    Early '80s it could have been the Warehouse (now the Krazy House)A great club.Phil Easton was the DJ.
    Limited pubs/clubs,The Swan in Wood St,The Augustus John,the Uni bars,The Masonic,O'Conners,The Moonstone,The Cave,Mardi,Blue,kept me busy for a few years.

    Yeah, a lot of posing - - I was saying in another thread how important it was to know the new dances .. usually from America .. and you had to learn them before you went the club at the weekend! It was crucial that you were cool
    Lindylou I bet I,d know your face, I went there regularly, knew Les Spain
    well, your dead right about the dances, around that time we would drop in
    the Blue Angel for a Bevvie or two, it was the Time & place first, they had
    to change the name because there was one in Manchester

    Hi Everyone, Great site...
    I have lots of questions, clubs, etc... so I hope to make a contribution
    Does anyone remember the guy who worked the door on Hollywood on duke st. big bald headed black guy...the club was one of Herberts (of hairdresser fame)...and was one of the plushest and hardest to get into in the 70's ?

    Default Duke Street Clubs of 70's

    I am trying to place the clubs on the following streets.....Duke St, Wood St, Seel St,. etc...in the early to late 70's....
    If we start off on Duke Street, I know Hollywood was definately there
    Seel St..was Bablou ?, Timepiece ?
    Wood St. I think Rio's was here ....
    Any help or recollections appreciated...

    We used to go to Rios.

    the Timepiece was in Fleet st.
