LIVERPOOL One has been named Shopping Location of the Year by a leading trade magazine.

The Retail Week award is one of five for the ?1bn shopping development in the last three weeks, beating tough competition from London, Belfast and Leicester.

Editor Tim Danaher said Liverpool One?s presence would ?create a business model that can only add to the future growth of the city, especially through the tougher times ahead.?

The award caps a successful period after Liverpool One gained Client of the Year and Project of the Year victories at the Building Awards Ceremony, and Development of the Year at the Property North West Awards.

Marketing director Donna Howitt said: ?After all the hard work the team have put in, it is nice to get a few pats on the back.

?Perhaps the award we are most proud of is Regeneration of the Year.?
