GROSVENOR?S Liverpool One project has earned a string of nominations for major North West architecture awards.

The raft of entries on the shortlist for the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Awards include five within the Paradise Street development.

Winners of a RIBA Award are shortlisted for the Stirling Prize ? the country?s most prestigious architecture title, named in honour of the late great James Stirling, architect of Tate Liverpool.

On the list are the Liverpool One Masterplan and Chavasse Park, both designed by BDP with Pelli Clarke Pelli having a hand in the park plans.



Herbert?s Bling Bling building, designed by CZWG and the leisure complex in Liverpool One which includes a 14 -screen Odeon, designed by Allies and Morrison, are also on the list.

Meanwhile, the colourful Paradise Street Bridge that links the Q Park on Liver Street to John Lewis has seen Wilkinson Eyre Architects win another nomination.

Wilkinson Eyre is a two-time winner of the Stirling Prize for building of the year and was hotly tipped in last year?s awards for its Arena and Convention Centre design, on the Kings Dock.

A total of 31 projects were nominated for the North West title and they were whittled down to 12 schemes. more
