Can anyone tell me what number buses ran along the dock road north & south, Regent road & Great Howard St.
The buses the dockers and warehouse workers would have used in the 1950/60s
Any pics also.
Cheers

I have a 1964 timetable at home so i'll check but I know I used to get the No1 outside Cunard Buildings in 1980 to Strand Road for North Hornby Dock to customs clear canary tomatoes and i'm sure some of these routes ran for years.
Apart from all variations of the No1 as above including the 1A, B, C, D and E.
The 39. Seaforth to the Pier Head.
Stops included Cotton st and the Northern Hospital before the Pier Head.
The 50 and 50A Ford - Bankhall (operated jointly between the corpy and Ribble)
Last couple of stops southbound were Derby road at Millers Bridge then Regent Road at Bankfield st (so outside the Dominion pub)
Thanks Ged,
So from your list it seems like only 3 bus services ran the Dock Rd and Gt Howard St. ?
The No. 1's were to replace the Overhead Railway- make you weep doesn't it ?
The number 20 (Aigburth to Black Bull, later Fazakerly) went along Gt Howard St.

There were also the 30's - dockers specials - they came from various places, then went down Sandhills La to the dock road, turning right and going along to Seaforth.
All the below ran to Seaforth
33 from Breck Road / Walton
34 from Longview
35 from Northwood
36 From Kirkby
37 from Croxteth
38 from Penny Lane
and of course the 39 which ran along Derby Road and Great Howard Street to the Pier Head.
