Default Please object to this development

Below: The bottom photo shows the uninspiring "anytown" building totally straddling the old lock entrance to Toxteth Dock from Brunswick Dock, preventing any excavation to re-introduce attractive water space for future developments.

This developments will be built across Brunswick Business Park where Toxteth Dock meets Brunswick Dock. This uninspiring building is of no maritime theme whatsoever, is to be built across the old in-filled dock waters.

If this building is built, the old docks cannot be excavated again to re-instate the waters running south. In short, this will prevent any further advancement to create an Amsterdam of the Liverpool Dock waterways.

    1. The Brunswick Business Park is past its sell by date and the area clearly should be redeveloped into a water based leisure/residential use, like all the developments around the park.
    2. The "anytown" building is of no architectural merit.
    3. There is enough space on the land side of the Dock Road to accommodate this restricting building.
    4. There has been suggestions of re-locating the small businesses in the business park to more suitable locations and developing the the area for leisure & residential use, which is by far the the best approach forward for this area.
    5. Residential homes around the old dock waters is clearly the most attractive way forward.
    6. Maro, the developers of the rejected Brunswick Quay Tower were talking of extending the water south back into Toxteth Dock by partial excavation.
    7. The business park is totally surrounded by residential homes and is now clearly out of place with large trucks constantly entering the area.
    8. The business park should be relocated as it is now a nuisance and acts as a disincentive for developers to revitalise the area which has massive potential.
    9. Constructing a building that clearly limits the potential residential/leisure development of the area is a retrograde step and must be stopped at all costs.

The Council should clearly produce along term plans for the area to clear all these matters up and prevent these sorts of proposals being submitted.

Deprived of its unique dockland waters Liverpool
becomes a Venice without canals, just another city, no
longer of special interest to anyone, least of all the
tourist. Would we visit a modernised Venice of filled in
canals to view its modern museum describing
    how it once was?
