    Birkenhead Park was the model for Central Park in New York. It's a lovely place. Great pictures Joe.

    I was in Central Park in Wallasey the other day with me daughter. It's looking very clean. I soon seen why, there were around twenty young offenders in luminous jackets picking litter up. Now aint that better than fines and probation. Something for us all and it keeps them busy. They were doing a good job. They even said hello to us.

    hi, im looking to find out the location of the "calder stones" themselves, i know that they are located within the small parm house, which the rangers have the keys to, but i want to know where about they where before they where moved to the parm house.

    At one time the Calder Stones acted as Boundary Stones when placed within this circle (shown on Google Streetview link). There is some writing on the circular wall, but some of it is now just below the tarmac. It's been a while since I photographed it, but I think there is a date at ground level.
