Default Frontline Church building Lawrence Road

I was parked up outside Frontline Church last night in Lawrence Road. On looking at some of the fire exits I noticed some decorative carvings above the doors. Three letters "R G A" and what look like carvings of cannons/artillery. I bit of Google searching says that RGA might be Royal Garrison Artillery. Just wondered if anyone has any information on the former life of this building ? Ta.
