I remember this because I was one my way home from school and it was so foggy that afternoon our 6 bus was not running so we had had to walk from the 60 bus in Rathbone Road passing the murder scene. I was interviewed but had seen or heard nothing whatsoever. I never heard of any follow up nor the murderer being caught.

No thats right, the Tiki killing was never solved. The house is still there too.

The Childwall Valley Road killing was solved and a 15 year old was convicted of the manslaughter of Lesley Hobbs.

The Thingwall Lane cottages were demolished years ago, all that remains is the wall just before the entrance to the Brothers of Charity.

Was it committed in one of the cottages. Ive been to this location and no 14 is one of the 1920s semi's. So I assumed it was committed there.

Bump, as it seems to possibly be connected to the Childwall murder currently under discussion.

It was a daytime killing (Maureen Dutton) and thick fog all day - a real pea souper. That night was a full moon and on the night of the Lesley Hobbs killing 11 months later, that too was a full moon. The Police considered this at the time and there were newspaper reports that the patterns of wounds on both bodies were similar. My question is that if we have these similarities and one offender convicted for one of the killings, surely it should have been two?

Was the offender convicted of the 2nd killing 11 months later never questioned over this one then?
