Where are they now

Please forgive me not very P.C. I know but, I seem to remember there where at least 2 'Slave Rings' set into the pavement in Liverpool. One of them was at the Junction of Moorfields and Tithebarn St, the other was in the vacinity of Stanley St, I think I remember them being there as late as the early 80's as I worked in Old Hall St and passed them many times.
As I said at the begining forgive me for touching on an emotive subject

I'd honestly never heard of these and those places you mention were on my shipping rounds from 1980 but if you saw them then you saw them. Somebody on here will know. I'm wondering what they'd have been used for though since very very few slaves were bought and sold here.

Could be for lifting a pavement lid, or the therthing of horses, etc. Not slaves, as you said Ged few ever came to the port. Liverpool were the shippers, not the merchants.

That is what I had always thought and been told, however I remember the one on Thithebarn St before the redevelopment of the old Railway builing that used to stand on that spot
