Really amazing to see this. Thanks for posting.
I hope not. It will be a great loss.
I doubt there are many inventions in the last hundreds of years that have such an impact as the railway did.
Enabling travel between cities in hours instead of days or weeks?
Perishable goods...
We really are silly not to be capitalising on our railway heritage.
Some would argue that they day the first intercity train left Liverpool for Manchester it was the beginning of the modern age.
Famous Army stores is the site of the base of St John's beacon in that picture. I seem to remember Famous Army Stores being at Ranelagh Place, is is still going?
The number of platforms needs to be increased because it's long been a hazard simply because of the size.
Lime Street is not as busy as Central and it has nine platforms. Thousands of people...
We're gonna lose that building. It's been getting worse for years.
Another famous resident worth adding is Margaret Simey who lived in Blackburn Terrace for years and was famous for her run ins with Mrs Thatcher and for being outspoken against the establishment.

Entwistle Heights was an engineering feat, one of the most massive residential blocks, on one of the highest viewpoints, perched on one of the highest, most spectacular locations, fantastic views!

That is simply amazing! It nice to see that part of the city being developed at long last and any improvement to Central Station is welcome - it's a hovel.
We've seen how Liverpool ONE gets so...
Fascinating. It looks like it is made of the same stone as the Welsh church on Princes Road. I hope they can save it but it looks to be in a very bad way.

Probably a good description. There hardly any structures that are similar to it in style although it has influenced a few. I think the 'gothic' is applied sometimes simply because of it likeness to...
Just would like to say that the 3D light show was absolutely brilliant last night at the Pier Head and it's on again tonight so DON'T miss it. It was spectacular and guaranteed to make any Scousers...
Fantastic pictures, I live in this neighbourhood and there are some buildings in Upper Duke Street which have been renovated and are occupied by businesses and are in my opinion, right up there with...
Can't waiting to go and see this. Nice to have the building finally open.
Amazing, can't wait.
What I find strange about Gostins Building is the sandstone stonework arches at the front which seem to be a lot older than the rest of the building. Did they come from a building that stood there...
Strange. I wonder whereabouts.
I agree about the fact we have no major ship as a floating attraction, considering how important our maritime heritage is.
I would like to see a replica of the Alabama moored in the Salthouse Dock.
I absolutely love the waterfront the way it is now. The contrast in styles, ages and building materials in the architecture makes it a remarkable public open space.
Standing near the floating...
