I to lived on the Dock Road next to the Iron bridge at the bottom of Walter Street in the A1 at Lloyds. My dad had the pub from1961to1979
Going back to Tescos in the Swan they had one opposite the Red House late 50s early 60s.
They have now bought the site of The Green Dragon Pub next door to Whiston Hospital
to open another...

The Bramley Moor on the dock road was always known as the The Long Bar.
And they were all Bents Pubs. I drank in the Coronation in the 60s
after playing football for Joseph Lucas whose ground was behind the Corrie, now another housing estate.
I also went to Walton Tech as it was called in 1956,later becoming John Hamilton 1958-59.Mr Hogg took over from Mr Clarke he did'nt last long either then we had Mr Baxter as Headmaster.

My Mum & Dad ran the A1 at LLOYDS pub at the bottom of Lightbody St from 1961 to 1979 which was to the right of the photo

Thanks for that trip back in time.I often went on the No 10 tram,I left the Swan in 1961 when we had the Regent and the Curzon to go to,passing through now it just seems smaller than I remember it....
I remember the old baths especially the High board I must be going back over 30 yrs since I went swimming there. I go to the new baths now with my grandchildren. :handclap:
