Just Zoom In
On the flower that at a distance looks so so
beauteous! Zoom in. Reveal the imperfections,
the cancer at the root, the problems we didn't
talk about, pretended they just didn't exist.
World out of focus, hard to see the way ahead,
complications to negotiate, decisions to make.
But such pretty florets, such gorgeous sunsets!
And we might make it through. Just might yet!
