what on earth is this?!

I can work most things out, but this has got me baffled. At first I thought it was part of an old street sign, but there's no marks for anything to be attached to it. The bottom looks delibrately shaped. It's clearly very old, but anyone got a clue what it is/was?

Maybe it was to catch your eye, so you wouldn't hit the wall on the turn? LOL... or property line?

It the bottom worn rather than shaped?

cheers. the wall extended beyond it so it must be from an earlier property.

I Think its to stop carriage wheels scrapeing the wall.
