A1412 Frankfurt Am Main 04/06/09

Could see this on Wirral WebCam but it doesn't show up on A.I.S. so..... I had to go see what it was and found this German Support Ship and a very nice talkative crew member who informed me that it's sister ship the A1411 Berlin was berthed a little futher north (seaforth?). I think both ships are here till 16th Jan before returning to Germany.

see the grey containers... they are a mobile hospital that can be transfered to shore. I'ts sister ship was deployed to thailand after the tsunami and it's hospital containers where transfered to shore to help out in the aftermath.

the one alongside the stage will be open to public on sunday for a few hours. must be worth a visit

Great Info!..... The crew member i spoke to was a little drunk but i remember him talking about the other ships, but im sure he called them sister ships, then again drunk and in a foreign language he still impressed!
Took this from wallasey on friday evening with my panasonic lumix 5mp snappy, not as good as the modern slr camera's, but quick and easy to use.
