Thanks Allan for introducing me and sorry it has taken me an extra day to register and post. Ok, I am searching for my ancestor Mary Agnes Sillitoe, she is noted on some census documents as Agnes so it is possible her birth is either Agnes or Mary as a first name. She is the daughter of William Sillitoe, labourer. So far we have determined that William Sillitoe married Ann Kelly and had a daughter called Mary who died as a child, so my lovely friends on rootschat have suggested that perhaps Mary/Agnes was born out of wedlock and simply used the name of her father on her marriage certificate. She was married in Liverpool to William Hayes in 1882. Her approximate birth is 1862 and she died in 1912 and on the 1901 says she was born in Seacombe. I have reason to believe that she or her mother may have been Scandinavian, possibly Norwegian. William Sillitoe fathered other children with Ann Kelly whose names I can supply. Anyone got any clues? Mary Agnes birth is NOWHERE!
