I then thought it may have been St Mary's Woolton but wrong again! So if little else, you can cross those two off the list.
The only clue I can give is that if you zoom in on the picture, there's a church spire behind the houses.
In all my time of looking at churches in Liverpool, it's not one I can place at all.
I thought it looked like St Thomas in Ashfield Wavertree.
That was my first thought Lindy but I've a picture and the steeple and overall size of the building is different. (that church has now been demolished too).Quote:

Is it St Bernard's off Kingsley Road?

I think we're looking at the back of the church.
The spire of Sefton Park Presbyterian Church ("Ian McLaren's Church"), corner of Brompton Avenue, would have been visible from St Bede's.
The current St Bede's is not the church in this photo.
Yes I know it's not the current St Bede's, that's why I mentioned the old St Bede's which may have been a slightly different design. I believe the old St Bede's was destroyed by fire.Quote:
