Great web site.
My mum used to live in King Gardens in Liverpool 8 in the 60's, and I have found it so hard to find a pic of them for her.
I have attached the ones I have come across so far...hope it helps!!
There is also a pic of Caryl Gardens, L8.
There are still the tenements near Crown Street (Minster Court) built where the orphanage once was (explaining the road name Orphan Street).
Someone told me there were once tenements like this where the Old Swan Tesco superstore is too...
Eldon Grove is currently being renovated I think.
Gardens? There wasn't a blade of grass anywhere near them. They ended up souless hell holes, creating social problems. They were quick fixes to get people out of the slums in the 1930s. One sort of slum to another with inside toilets and and hot and cold water. Once the slums had largley gone, then they went. Thank God.
Caryl Gardens had some art deco features.
Tennaments in Garston too. I've pics of old Liverpool housing, I shall get them out later.
