Nelson Street
Does anyone have photographs of The Nook pub and ajoining buildings in Nelson Street, China Town area of Liverpool.
I have an ancestor who died at No 9 Nelson Street in 1897.
From the 1911 Gores directory 7/9 seem to be part of the Nook building.
On the 1891 census No 9 seems to be some sort of lodging house with many lodgers residing there.
I would be interested in any information on this subject of its buildings listed in this posting please.
Earlier pictures of any sort to give me an idea of this area.
Thank you in advance.

The building on the corner of Nelson Street is currently a restaurant. I'll take my own pics when I get time, but a couple of small ones are on Flickr:

Nelson Street. The door between the pub and the restaurant looks a bit odd to me. This area is the centre for Chinese New year celebrations (Feb). The second pic is taken from Grenville Street South. Altough not in Toxteth, the area is covered on this map, from Toxteth.net:

Looks like the building in Grenville St has been chopped to make way for the corpy housing tenement building.
Thanks for the pics.
