Closed down ages ago Joe. A pity as it looks a fine building but apparently decaying inside.
Thanks Ged, you can see where I was walking on monday.
It is a unique building in a sad state, cheers for the pic :PDT11
It looks like the library in Green Lane, Tuebrook is going the same way. A loverly building with a garden all around.
This would be an ideal local history centre!
wasnt it used by the local community association before they moved into premises on Breckfield Road North?
There are 2 notices on the wall,
Breckfield and North Everton Neighbourhood Council and then Merseyside Information Centre
Check this out Samp.

Another picture of old Liverpool. Well Done!
I will take some pictures of the library as it is now and post them. If someone can explain to me how to do it? I am new to this forum business.
Help someone.
It is a great building; that coupled with the water tower and Heyworth Street Church (St Georges) make this part of the city very interesting indeed. It is a shame that most of the old communities these buildings once served are now long gone. This however is good in one respect...and that is us Wallaseyians can enjoy em' from, the prom!

Everton Library was recently up for sale with the vacant land of Petton Street & Beacon Lane next to the Mere Bank
not sure whether it has been sold as the for sale signs have either been taken down or knocked down
