st patricks junior school

Hi all
Does anyone know of any school pics of st patricks junior school building, teachers or kids class photos from the 1960's-possibly from 1965-1969 ish????

St Patricks had a Junior boys and a Junior Girls. The boys was on Hyslop Street behind Park Place and the girls was in the grounds of the current St Patricks Juniors.

They both looked like three story brick warehouses. The girls was torn down mid-seventies and the boys torn down a few years ago.

I only have one school class pic which I think was from 1978. Can't seem to find any other pics though sorry.

My Dad went to St Pats, Also Married there. Park Place is correct

It's the continuation of Park rd. Park place is after Warwick st. It then runs into St.James place.

I used to work in a shop right opposite St Pats church.
That block of shops has gone now I think.

Hi shirley,I went to st patricks infants and junior schools,the infants was in hyslop street/park place,and the juniors was in south chester street/jenner street,there is a book that came out many years ago,loads of photos of the church and school children,including two of my brothers,have had look around for it in the house, but cant find it, when I do I will give you the title. sue

Hi shirley,dont come on here often,just saw your message,Iam so sorry I forgot all about it,:shock:so much has happend lately it went right out of my head,Ive had a quick scout round today no joy,I think its in a small case that I keep memories in,asked my husband where it was,he told me its in the loft,I cant get up there and he has got really bad sciatica at the moment,I cant remember the title,but it was to do with celebtrating about 150years of the parish,I will ask him to get up there when hes having a good day.sue P.S if you are going to liverpool maybe you could try the priests house across the road from the church.

Reading this thread although I never attended St Patricks I think at one time the Dion centre was used thats in the sixties. :PDT11

Still no pics of this school.

St Pats Church is on Park Place, facing the old Social Club.

Every other schools seems to be on this forum but St Pats. It had a nickname - Colditz. I was there from '77 - till '81. It was a forbidding place I'll tell ya. I remember the shop on the corner too.

Any luck yet wi pics of st patrick's??? Anyone out there happen to go in the late sixties??? I am trying to get hold of class pics for a friends birthday-was for last year's birthday-but trying again for this year. I have tried friends reunited and no luck yet. The dates are probably from about 1965 until 1969-but even a pic of the school as it was then (ish) would be wonderful. I am not giving up hope yet . ive been on google searching for this book on st patricks that suzie shoes mentioned. no sign. could anyone give me clues as to title. Did anyone else buy or obtain one as well as suzie shoes??? Would love to buy a copy . ive not managed a photo of st patricks from 50's sixties or seventies time-specially the boys bit so was thinking the book sounded like a good idea instead. Its coming up christmas and want a special present for my friend and running out of time. would love it to be something from st patricks if possible. i am determined to not give up on this-one day i will find some pics from somewhere. Someone out there must have one. This site is brilliant and i know one of these days they will come up with something-will wait with patience

Ive just been speaking to the most helpful staff at liverpool record office and theyve given me a tiltle of the book/pamphlet that i think suzi shoes menat. its called st patricks 150th anniversary souvenir from 1978 by anthony hosker we think. I would love to get hold of a copy somehow but failing that i will call in hopefully at the record office this week and try and get a look at it. Has anyone out there got a copy they can look in to check what photos they have in it in the meantime. thanks. :):PDT11

Sorry, I don't have info on this but, take a digi camera along and you can take pics of the pages of the book for future ref.

thanks for that-i will do as long as they let me. its only from 1978 so it shouldnt be too delicate. Cant find a mention of it anywhere on line on ebay google or amazon-strange that-but i suppose its difficult with pamphlets

Shirley Have you tried asking the church( St Pats) if they have any pics I went to Mount Carmel in High park st and we often had other schools visit us and vice versa for special mass or choirs maybe you could write to them se if they have any old pics

Have you tried Facebook, there is a St Patricks Group on there with some photos. Don't know of the date will be right but worth a shot?

That's the junior boys school, it's the building just above the white word 'the' in the photograph. This is very early as the St Patrick's Social club building isn't there yet.
