very smart :PDT11 those photos look very interesting. Great display.
splendid stuff. you must send me that pic of the wedding.
I'll send the scary pic I have of 'Marty Feldman' woman to Zapps.
nice meeting you today. :PDT11
All of those pictures tell a story. A great piece of the past captured for the future in a very small but historical part of the city just on the fringe of the centre. I'm looking forward to the 'do'.
thanks guy's for the good wishes i appreciate it, lets hope it rounds up a bit of interest
Debz x x:)
Great images, we have a date, how about a location.:PDT11
It's at the Silvestrian club, Silvester street off Vauxhall Road, Liverpool 5 and approx 220 of the 350 tickets (over 2 rooms) have been sold. A bit slower than the 03 reunion by all accounts that went within 48 hours. Apparently many turned up on the day expecting to get in but couldn't though that may happen this time if there's any unsold
Thanks Ged, now how much and where can we get tickets.
Drone, the tickets you can get at the Silvestrian club,Scottie press (both in Silvester st) and they're a mere £5.
Hope to see you there.
:PDT_Piratz_26:
There's a great band on ;)
12 noon till 12 midnight
Plus scotch pipers, Irish dance band, Acoustic guitarists, also (I think) Stevie Faye - the comic.
THE importance of Scotland Road to Liverpool’s international reputation is widely recognised.
May 31 2008 by David Charters, Liverpool Daily Post
Louise Ellman, MP for Liverpool Riverside, whose constituency includes it, sent this message: “In 2003 the 200 years history of Liverpool’s Scotland Road was celebrated with a grand reunion for past and present residents. I am sure that this ‘Scottie 08 Reunion’ will be equally successful and enjoyable. It will be a very meaningful addition to events marking Liverpool’s Capital of Culture Year.”
Praise for the event also came from the Liverpool’s Culture Company’s Open Culture section, run by Phil Redmond.
“Scotland Road is known the world over, as many hundreds of thousands of people will have ancestry who passed through the area on route to the new world in the 19th and 20th centuries,” says Charlotte Corrie, one of its facilitators.
“The area is legendary for its close knit community spirit and the Scottie 08 Reunion ensures the continuation of that spirit into the 21st Century. It is very fitting therefore that a Scotland Road Reunion in the city’s Capital of Culture year should receive the endorsement from Liverpool Culture Company and be given best wishes for its success.”
TICKETS for the reunion, priced at £5, are available on 0151 330 0222 (the Silvestrian Club) and 0151 482 2000 (Scottie Press).

Even the Titanic's main corridor/passage was known as Scotland Road. A name given to the same part of many British registered Ocean going vessels.

Well folks
am not gonna say to much about the scottie rd get together, I will leave it for our resident comedian Ged (Ohhh no:PDT_Xtremez_42:)
But here's a pic of "The Gardens" who actually where quite good.
Seeing Ged on drums reminded me to get a bar of cadbury's chocolate for some reason???

Nice pic:PDT_Piratz_26:
Wish i could have been there today.
Just got in - about half twelve which from 10am is a long day but still buzzin'.
Z & DD seemed to enjoy themselves, especially the former dancing to the Irish country band - ala twirl to the left, now backwards, now turn - pics to follow if I can get up off the floor.
We had a great time at the Scottie Rd Reunion yesterday. An eclectic mix of dance, song and comedy, and that was just The Gardens!!
A couple of pics from our set, including the famous Ged on drums.
It was nice to meet a couple of Yo members, John and Deb.
Are we not going to see a pic of JohnZ then ?? :unibrow: :ninja:
Thanks John. Lindy, i'm just deciding on which pic of John. The one where he's being twirled around by the pensioner lady or the one where he's kicking his legs out in the middle of a circle during the Irish country dance :unibrow:
He was a great sport though being the only bloke up amongst all those Scottie Road man eaters. He has got 2 left feet though just like me. :)
I have a a picture in my minds eye ;)
I like to see if people turn out how you imagine them ... JZ will be tall and thin - he might be a typical L'pool blokey bloke - but he did mention a motorbike somewhere along the line - so maybe he and his other half are bikers ?? :ninja:
This could make a good forum game guessing how you think people look :unibrow: .. on the other hand .. better not !! :D - only joking :PDT_Aliboronz_11:
- - but everyone must have an image in their minds eye.
You're quite near in your minds eye pic Lindy. He said we were better than the Beatles but he think he'd have said that if a load of binmen were up there with metal lids. I had him down as a big brute with a desperate Dan chin with a tache to match Zappa's - how wrong could I be. Debz told me in the morning to picture Nigel Havers ha ha.
Oh dear I wonder what pic will go up?
(Street cred has well gone!!):PDT_Xtremez_42:
Lindy am just another ordinary bloke with 2 left feet .I have mates who have motorbikes, myself I am not a biker .
(Talking of lookalikes and such...Quincy reminds me of the woman on "Dog Borstal" ):handclap:
