I was down town today on dale St thinking very much the same, what if the germans had hit dale street a lot harder, what would it look like today?

Agree totally, the new buildings are too souless for a good pic even If It's composed good.
The companies building these new buildings have terrible taste In architecture.
A Lovely picture GD, I wish we still retained all the older buildings that have been destroyed, [see Liverpool buildings lost] arent we lucky with what we still have, how on Earth did the Liverbirds not get bombed during the war?!!

Yeah the new glass & metal buildings do nothing for me.
Even mundane housing. Will the people of tomorrow be taking pictures of what is now all these new red brick estates. Not a patch on Georgian, Edwardian and Victorian Liverpool.

I think those new buildings are superb. Unity is distinctive. The rejected Brunswick Tower was superb. How a poverty stricken city can turn down such a billion pound proposal, and from a local company too, is beyond me. The sooner there is political change in the city the better. These photos are just magnificent.. I love these old buildings.. No. The idea was to kid the bombers that Liverpool was on the Dee and direct bombers away from Liverpool.Quote:

This is one of my favourite Liverpool buildings. Now sadly being left to rot. One of the last buildings designed by the renowed Liverpool architect, J. Francis Doyle. I particularly like the sundial clock.
