1st. one looks like Childwall Church/Abbey Hotel to me.
Nice to see a Liverpool registered bus. My old Mk2 Fiesta's reg was KKB.
The 1st one is a picture of the Childwall Abbey taken from the lytchgate of the church over the road. A lovely clear picture!
A view looking down the road towards the church with the Abbey on the right.

It in the location of the QEII law courts with Trials Hotel and the Town Hall in the far back ground.
I'll have to look the street up as its not there any more but Cable Street runs off it. :)
Is it South Castle st?
Well done Ged. There is a street sign on the wall but I went Gozzy trying to work out what it said. :D
Thanks folks. I vaguely remember it. Wasn't there a telegraph house or something on Cable st where the postmen/telegram men parked their old red bikes outside, early 70s ish.
Thanks Phil, that'll bring back some memories. When you think of how that area has changed a number of times before and is currently changing again.
Ta. It's all these 'Souths', obviously got me mixed up a bit.
Liverpool Daimler bus in a 1951 photo heading on route 16 towards The Pier Head.
Location? answers on a Postcard please

I drove the 16 for a bit in the late 60s. Can't place that at all. Make a guess at Stanley Road.
No. Prince Alfred Road And Walton. I was on the spare sheet at both and was spare man at the Pier Head quite often and got the odd 16 if someone failed to turn to or went off sick. Sometimes got sent to the Haymarket for 51too.
Haven't got a clue where that picture was taken.
Sorry, i've even examined this scene against other photos I have of the streets mentioned previously but as there are no defining buildings such as a pub or shop name, it's hard to work out just where it is.
based on me being daft, I,ll say Islington:PDT_Aliboronz_24:
I don't think the 16 went along Islington Chippie but Rob will know for sure.
Quite right Ged, told yer it was a daft guess. I,m not thinking right.:PDT_Piratz_26:
stab in the dark; berry st? ...thought not
Well the destination board says 'Pier Head' so we can safely assume its heading South into the City Centre. The buildings in the background don't look like anything on the South East side of Tithebarn St or Chapel Street so it would be somewhere on Vauxhall Road.
:)
Right..the good news..I'm back..Errraeeeeeeeeeee..who said Booooooooooo. !!
Just got me puter back 20 minutes ago after being sent back for repair nearly 2 weeks ago..
Wheres the piccie then !..
I reckon its Tithebarn St and the shop on the right is/was Grandma Daleys pet shop..Top of Cheapside left of picture.
Picture would have been taken outside the Rising Sun pub...I think so anyway !!
Ey up lad - waaaahhaaay.
