Ok - ok, not the same type of old advert but check out the ending, I don't remember it like that - do you?
Great thread! Thanks, everyone! :handclap:

The most unusual ad I remember was the one for Manns Brown Ale. The billboards adds didn't last to long and you will understand why. The ad depicted a party situation with a number of people drinking Manns Brown Ale and the slogan read;
"Enjoy a Manns Brown and widen the circle of your friends". These adds appeared in the early sixties.:)
Was there one on the Lisbon?
Perhaps Mandy, I've just apologised to someone who PM'd me :PDT_Aliboronz_11:

Will probably be demolished along with the Welsh streets....
but I think the other side of Kelvin Grove is staying.
Interesting Irwin's mosaic tile advert on the side of 2 Allerton Rd, Mossley Hill. A betting shop now occupies the premises.
Great postings folk's..:handclap:

During world war II, the Water board could not guarantee the amount/pressure of water to fight fires due to bombing, and so EWS(emergence Water supplies) Stations were set up, Usualy these were ponds, bathing houses, or purpose built resovours, these images where taken on sheid road.

The bottom one says EWS 100 YDS.
Hi drone pilot
Here's a pic of another EWS sign in Fulwood, a suburb of Preston, Lancashire, as well as discussion of such signs and the meaning of the abbreviation.

When I get permission to display them on here, I've got access to lots of pictures around the Edge Hill area with EWS on. :PDT11
