Let's also hope some money gets spent on renovating Anfield Cemetery. This splendid place is looking very down at heel at the moment. I underdstand that Anfield was once spelt Ann Field. I wonder who Ann was? A family relative, William ****son, once owned Anfield House.
our house prices have gone down in the last 3 years its about time they started the regeneration now their is a bit of movement in the market the houses off hildebrand rd have gone down by about £20 thousand in the last 3years i hope they go up so we can get out of this hell hole
Took this today of the Gladstone Conservatory, which will hopefully look far better after the restoration.
Here's what they plan to do with it.

Will they use It for than just football?
Where abouts are these fences? I hope they haven't closed the terrace gardens.
WELCOME to the new north Liverpool. These amazing images show how Anfield, Everton and surrounding areas will be transformed with millions of pounds of regeneration money. more
Do you think its good to have academy's these schools are taken out of local education and financed by private money and are no longer under local education i think i feel safer for my kids to stay under local education unbrella
Utting ave
Has anything happened in Anfield with regards to demolition? I went along Walton Breck Road on the 26 and couldn't spot any changes from the last time I went!
I noticed that the Montrose club, Whitefield rd has been demolished - I cut through that way yesterday and was surprised to see it has gone.
Strangely the outline where it used to be didn't look all that big, yet the club was a reasonable size with lots of tables and quite a big dance floor and a stage and cloakrooms. I think there was a back room too.
You'd wonder where it all fitted in when you see the outline. (or 'footprint' to use the latest phrase! )
Think I know what you mean by :unibrow:
:D
The Montrose did get a bit of a reputation :unibrow:
It started out ok years ago and there were some good groups and comedians on there. The last few years it changed and went all rowdy.
I heard some tales about that place ! :ninja:
So in other words, I need to get down there!
Well its Easter holls and revision is key for the next two weeks but I will try to get down there this weekend.
EDIT: Gerrard, thanks for the kind comment! I aim to please!
Wow thats a great pic of Utting Lindylou, you must have been standing just outside my old house to take it (number 24). I used to love it there
Yes, it's a nice speck there. The houses have a pleasant outlook onto the trees.
Just the traffic a bit hectic. :)
Those trees will be gone soon.
Wha' !! I hope not !
You mean when the new LFC plans begin ? It can't affect those trees ?? - or are you winding me up ! :)
They chop the buggers back to the gills every year and they still grow back. There used to be twice as many until they thinned them and took out alternate trees years back. My Nanna went ballistic at the workmen for chopping down 'her tree' and demanded a chunk of it to keep in the house.

For a pub next to the Staduim It's quite run down looking on the outside.
I love the Albert. Remember going in there one match day with my Ma and daring to ask for a red wine, the response was to the point "Wine? We don't sell wine" double brandy was what she got :)
Incidentally, my Ma was the Arkles barmaid for quite a while during the 60's and has told me how they used to have to turn off the Guinness on a match day because it took too long to pour! :)
The Albert looks less run down on the outside In this older pic off ScouserDave's site.

They need some red paint and few cuppa teas and then job done.:PDT11
It's just been left to deteriorate for too long, like most things in Liverpool!:disgust:
some pictures taken around Anfield.
Listed buildings on Breck rd. (Houses dating from 1700s if I'm not mistaken).
View of Pinehurst ave and Pinehurst rd (to the right) - St Columbas church seperates the avenue from the road.
Anfield sign.
Trees on Pinehurst ave.
Blossom trees on Townsend lane.
Police have confirmed that a body found on wasteland in Anfield is that of a 29-year-old woman.
The discovery was made a little after 7am today on Lower Breck road near the Liverpool Supporters' Club.
Police are treating the incident as 'unexplained' at the moment and a post
morrtem examination will take place to establish the cause of death.
