Sadly, this tower block was knocked down a couple of years back. Cracking views from the roof.

Dave they are gutting the block of flats at the bottom of Lodge Lane. Maight be a good opportunity to get down there too.
Thanks for the info Kev. How many stories do you think it is?
Dave, I always admired those shots of yours on your Liverpool pictorial site.
@dave - I'll count later
Thanks Kev.
Cheers Ged, much appreciated.
Here's an oldie of the first Beetham being built viewed from the Corinth. Amazing the changes near the waterfront over the past 4 years.

I don't think the one by Lodge Lane is quite the height of Corinth, but may still be worth a look. Another one near there had scaffolding to the roof recently but I didn't notice until they'd started taking it down.
Also, Corinth Tower was on a much higher elevation. Does anyone recall St George's Heights? Jeez! Wish I had the chance to take some pics from that roof.
Very cool views. My sister used to live in one of those towers there but I never got the chance to visit. Doh :)
Hi
I remember it well. I worked as a radio engineer for Pye for 20 odd years
and we had radio gear on the top of most high rise flats, 23 floors. On
St Georges we had a fibre glass hut on the roof with the radio stuff in. It
was fun when the hut was put on the roof with a crane which had a 230 ft
jib. Went to most high rises, Corinth, the 3 in Sheil Road , St Georges and what was the one down by Crown St.
Which one was by Crown Street, the one near the top of Smithdown? Never realised there were three in Sheil Road. When I moved down there, only one was left. Seems ages now since that one was pulled down...
the one by Crown Street was Entwistle Hights but I can't remember what the smaller block was called
The smaller one was Milner House, named after the safe company that previously occupied the site.
That's the one. Used to hate going there in the dark and often, as the
Transport Police gear was up there, used to have a bobby with me.
Yes the 3 in Sheil road were fine, really clean well looked after blocks.
But most of the high rises have gone. St Georges church is now the
highest point, that is the church behind were St Georges mount used to be
I did take loads of pic,s but as this was many years ago they have probably
well gone..
Thanks for the info and pic Kev.
Steve, any chance of having a search for those pics. I'm drooling thinking about them:)
Hi
will have a good search round, I took 100,s of pic,s as "Photography" was
my new hobby and I took shots of everything, like one does.
There were some great views, I remember being on the roof of St Georges
lovely clear day see for miles looking up the coast at Blackpool Tower or over the Mersey towards the Welsh hills, spent many a happy hour stuck in the lift
or no lifts working so had to lug heavy test gear up 23 floors, AH those were
the days my friend, cue music
Thanks Steve, you must have seen some cracking views. I'm mates with one of the guys on St George's Church building committee, so I can get on top of their tower whenever I like.
Here's a pic of Corinth Tower viewed from Vauxhall

Which road was that taken from Dave as I cannot for the life of me think where you were!
Apparently its getting demolished :PDT_Xtremez_42:. Get the camera ready!
I think it's a shame them knocking down all the tower blocks. It'll be regreted in the future imo.
How did yer beat me to that Dave !!,Yer werent there a minute before I posted.
Thanks Dave! I was round by Great Mersey Street earlier today which is why I was wondering where you were when you went a few years ago.
Gerard: Isn't it fun when that happens! People like me get two answers from one question! Its round where you and Dave said anyway!
Many Thanks to the both of you anyway for clearing my curiosity , many cats across Wallasey are now sighing with relief!
The other towers around there are and have been refurbished. They added an Extra floor to them too.
My Dads mate lives In one of the towers by the Cricket Club In Sefton Park and the flats In them are big.
...
Here's what its gonna look like:

Knowsley Heights Liverpool Road Huyton
Bootle or Benidorm ?
Tricky Dickie or Sticky Vicky ?
The Bootle blocks all have these zany markings to break up the monotony of the bland concrete. Personally, these ones remind me of the run down hi-rise in Los Cristianos, Tenerife - where the locals live.
^^Hi Ged^^ I merged the thread with another, hope u don't mind, puts them all together in one place :)
Gnomie mate, apologies for missing your cracking pics. Just spotted Ged's recent post (ta mate) and saw your's.
Cheers Kev and Dave. Just added a High-Rise page to my website.

Very Good Ged:PDT11
I like thems i do
I've taken ones of those Knowsley Heights too Tony, still gotta upload them yet, not as good as yours though - hint - hint....
Still gotta do the two sets of three in Dave's old haunt - Canny Farm.
My Huyton ones are from a short distance - there were some kids knocking about with batons of wood - better safe than sorry.
