I love all the Georgian Streets around the Cathedral but William Brown Street is amazing.
Apart from William Brown Street, I'd say Castle Street is my favourite.
I'm with Paul D on this, Georgian Streets rule ok

Like everyone has said - the Georgian streets are lovely, and so is Castle st, etc. William Brown street is unbeatable.
I like the tree lined avenues of leafy suburbia too ... and what about the many quaint little streets that have survived around the city.
I love William Brown st. and all the Georgian ones also fond of Allerton road but for some reason my favourite is Wood St.
Anywhere with a supermarket or restaurant on.
Otherwise that street that has Steve's chippy on it.
1.Sefton Park Drive
2.Mossley Hill Drive
3.Waterloo Road (or what I always call the Dock Road)
4.Huskisson St.
Mason Street, Edge Hill. Very little to see now but I've got many many old pictures and drawings from the 1800's of when it was a grand area!!
Hope Street, with the cathedrals situated at each end and the Philharmonic pub.
I love Hope st and Hope Place.
I like the atmosphere of it. Those big houses look great, especially lit up at night.
Hope place has a cosy feel to it.
Princes Road/Avenue is my favourite. In the spring it reminds me of that same season in Paris, in the summer it has a look and feel of New Orleans and in the winter, especially under a blanket of snow, it reminds me of Moscow.
As for William Brown Street; Can anyone point to a finer rise anywhere else in the world? I know there are places with streets every bit as impresive as William Brown Street but, I would argue that there is none more so.

i agree princes road/avenue is quite remarkable. it must have been spectacular in it's heyday..:)
It's hard to choose but to be honest, it has to be Scottie Road/County Road in Kirkdale/Walton. It's the part of Liverpool that I feel I know more seeing as I have been up and down it so often! The buildings along there are just brilliant, especially St Mary's of Walton on the Hill which is where my Great Grandma and Great Grandad got married (They lived in Tuebrook). That's probably one reason why I like it so much.
If not that, then it has to be St Domingo Road/Heyworth Street in Everton and thats purely because of the view you get! It's unrivelled! :snf (41):
S'pose for me it has to be Tuebrook,(right name I s'pose is West Derby Rd.) So many 'firsts' happened for me there. Most of my M8's were from there, and times in Newsham park, were just fab.
I went to Heyworth Street school (demolished to make way for Everton Park) and you could even see it from the ferry going to New Brighton.Quote:

Hard but love
Hope Place - nice intact late georgian/early victorian street ( the unity actually adds to the street I think)
Water street - Like something from New York - love the scale and the views down to the river, also includes Martins bank, India building, Orial chambers. Great street.
Percy street - Stone house unique in liverpool, more like edinburgh, St Bride's church at one end - love it
Miurhead Ave - The top end with the flats on. Well designed, well proportioned buildings, lovely mature trees If it was in London the prices of the flats would be stupid

Hope place is lovely and has a certain charm that never changes.
It's funny, but hardly anyone (from around here anyway) call it West derby rd - we automatically say Tuebrook for the main road.Quote:

This is the road which Elm Vale finishes on and overloosk Newsham Park, this also looks like an attractive place to be!
I've always liked Elm Vale. It's always had it's own unique character. :)

Mine has to be Hadassdah Grove off Lark Lane, Sefton Park. Another delightful Toxteth St.
My best streets must be the ones I was brought up in :=
The Three Rock Streets off West Derby Road, (White, Red, Grey), Norwood Grove and Lombard Street just after the war.
Funny how no one has mentioned 'Every Street'. Has always been a joke in our family.

I am looking for old pics of Norwood Grove L6 about 1950's.
I remember all the houses were rather large and out of place with other houses in that area.
Norwood Grove was between White Rock St and Saxon St and ran from West Derby Rd to Whitefield Rd.
There was Church (my local family Church) on the West Derby Road corner.
Any pics would be more than welcome.

I love Town Row in West Derby Village...in fact I really like the Village, brings back happy memories of school (St Mary's).
Rodney Street and Hope Street for the atmosphere and faded grandeur (if that makes sense)
